Hello, this is Bitpunk. Today I'd like to introduce a site where you can check the Bitcoin greed index. When you visit the site, you'll see the greed index as shown below. Perhaps because the developer is a Bitcoin holder, the higher the greed index, the more it's shown in green, the color of positivity. So, shall we take a closer look at the site?

Bitcoin Greed Index Chart
Below is the Fear & Greed Index chart recorded since February 2018. Here, a value of 0 means "Extreme Fear" and a value of 100 means "Extreme Greed." Measurement of the Fear & Greed Index began in early 2018 with the final algorithm. Let's take a look. (Unfortunately, there's no data for the December 2017 bull run. Records begin on February 1, 2018.)

Why Measure the Bitcoin Fear & Greed Index?
So why measure the Bitcoin Fear & Greed Index? People tend to get greedy when the market is rising, which leads to FOMO. On the other hand, extreme fear can be a sign that investors are too worried. That could be a good time to buy. Conversely, when investors get too greedy and the greed index soars, it may mean the market is due for a correction.
The Bitcoin Fear & Greed Index can be seen as yet another analytical tool for understanding market conditions through sentiment analysis of the Bitcoin market. For reference, the greed index is made up of volatility (25%), market momentum/volume (25%), social media (15%), surveys (15%), dominance (10%), and trends (10%).
The Greed Index as an Analytical Tool for Bitcoin
Many people have their own trading methods based on technical indicators. Which indicators do you trade by? Green candles? Red candles? Volume? Or perhaps support, resistance, trends, ranges, and so on. Alternatively, you could use sentiment indicators instead of these technical ones. Ultimately, the market reflects the decisions of the traders who take part in it, and it's often driven more by emotion than by reason. This is especially true in a market like Bitcoin, where institutional participants are only just beginning to enter.
That's why sentiment analysis is an interesting tool to consider alongside fundamental and technical analysis. It's a handy tool in that it analyzes volatility, momentum, trends, and more in its own way and expresses them as a single index. The real questions, of course, are how accurate it is and how you use it. The greed index is hitting its highest level of the year. Will Bitcoin drop soon? Or will the greed index race toward 100?
