Recommended Treemap Sites for Korean Stocks
2 min read · · Korean original
A treemap makes it easy to see how much stocks have risen or fallen. Investors in overseas stocks have used treemaps for a long time, but Korea has not had a proper treemap service. Recently, however, ZUM launched a proper treemap. Let's look at where to find the Korean stock treemap and how to use it.

Korean Stock Treemap: ZUM
The portal site ZUM offers a treemap for Korean stocks. From what I've seen, it is the cleanest option and comes with a number of handy features. With it, you can get a visual sense of how the overall market is moving and how much it has risen or fallen.

The extra features it offers are quite useful. First, you can choose broad categories such as the top 1,000 stocks by market cap, KOSPI, and KOSDAQ. You can also choose detailed sectors such as electrical and electronics, chemicals, finance, semiconductors, and pharmaceuticals.
How to Read a Treemap
A treemap can be used in many ways, but there is a basic way to read it. First, the size of each box represents market cap. The bigger the box, the larger the company's market cap. Korea's flagship stock is, of course, Samsung Electronics.
Next is color. The deeper the red, the bigger the gain; conversely, the deeper the blue, the bigger the drop. Gray means neutral or moving sideways.
You can also click any stock on the treemap to see its details. Along with price movements over periods from 1 week to 1 year, you can get an overview of how much the stock has risen or fallen.

Wrapping Up
That's my introduction to the Korean stock treemap offered by ZUM. You can use it on mobile, too. With a treemap, you can grasp the overall flow of the market and use it to put together a comprehensive investing and trading plan, right? I wish you successful investing. Thank you.
