Hello, this is Bitpunk. The Binance Alpha event has been getting a lot of attention lately. That's no surprise, since in May alone people received a substantial amount of airdropped coins with just a few clicks.

So how do you farm Binance Alpha Points? And how do you actually receive the airdrops? In this post, we'll take a detailed look at farming Binance Alpha Points.

1. Create and Back Up a Binance Wallet

The very first thing to do is create and back up a Binance Wallet. Binance supports a Keyless wallet, which is a self-custody wallet linked to your Binance account.

Unlike creating a wallet in an app such as MetaMask, a Keyless wallet has no mnemonic phrase. That's why creating the wallet and backing it up properly to the cloud is an essential step.

How to back up your Binance Wallet

You can back up your Binance Wallet from the main screen or via [Settings] - [Wallet Management] - [My Wallet] - [Backup Management].

Once the backup is complete, it's a good idea to verify it one more time. When you've finished all of the steps above, you're ready to deposit assets and start trading.

2. Deposit Assets into Your Binance Wallet

Open your Binance Wallet and tap [Assets] at the bottom. Then, through [Receive] - [Withdraw from Binance Exchange], you can easily move assets held in your Binance account over to the wallet.

At this point, you need to deposit USDT for trading along with BNB to cover gas fees. For example, to comfortably build up around 240 Binance Alpha Points, you'll need roughly $2,050 or more in USDT and about $10 worth of BNB.

3. Trade Alpha Coins

Once you've deposited assets into your Binance Wallet, it's time to trade "Alpha coins" in the wallet. Go to the [Market] section and you'll see [Alpha], as shown below.

You'll see a variety of coins listed. If you sort them by trading volume (Vol), from highest to lowest, you can trade more reliably. For example, if you tap the coin at the very top, a swap page like the one below will appear.

Binance Wallet swap and slippage

Before trading, check the [Slippage] setting shown just below. It's usually set automatically to around 1%. Tap [Slippage] here to change it.

How to check the Binance Alpha event and your earned points

You can enter your preferred slippage range under [Customize]. Lower slippage helps you save on costs, but be careful: if it's set below 0.1%, the trade itself may fail.

Once you've finished setting slippage, go ahead with the swap. Since each account will have a different target trading volume, trade accordingly to match yours.

The important thing is that only "buy" volume counts toward Alpha Points. That means you need to sell the coin and buy it back again. If you're working with a large amount, it may be better to split it into several smaller trades.

4. Check Your Earned Alpha Points

You can check your Binance Alpha Points in the "Alpha Event" tab on the exchange. There, you can see your Alpha Points history for the last 15 days.

How to adjust slippage in Binance Wallet

To take part in Alpha airdrops and TGEs, it's a good idea to have at least 240 to 260 points or more saved up. However, this can change at any time, so it's best to check Binance's announcements regularly.

5. Join Alpha Airdrops and TGEs

When Binance launches a new Alpha airdrop or token sale, you can use the Alpha Points you've earned. Go to [Alpha events] and check the [Alpha Airdrop] or [TGE] tab.

If there's an ongoing project and you meet the requirements, you can apply to participate. By default, 15 points are deducted each time you participate, and you'll receive the token airdrop or the tokens you purchased according to the announced schedule.

You don't have to join projects you're not interested in. If you think better projects will come along later, holding off on spending your Alpha Points right away can be a strategy in itself.

Wrapping Up

That covers how to trade Alpha coins through Binance Wallet and build up Alpha Points. I can't say how long Binance Alpha will stay profitable, but at least for now, it may be a pretty decent option.

Using a DEX and a personal wallet can feel a bit complicated for beginners, but if you try things one step at a time, you'll get the hang of it quickly. If you're interested in the various airdrops and token sales Binance runs, farming Alpha Points may be worth considering.
