You've probably heard a lot of people saying "I got an airdrop" on Binance lately, right? Previously, anyone could join token sales on Binance Wallet. Recently, however, the "Alpha Points" system was introduced, changing the structure for sales and airdrops.

In this post, we'll look at what Binance Alpha Points are, how to earn them, and how many you should aim for, along with a strategy to earn the most profit as efficiently as possible.

What Are Binance Alpha Points?

Alpha Points are a kind of "activity score" that Binance recently introduced. You can check them by opening the Binance app and searching for "Alpha Events" in the menu.

Checking Binance Alpha Events and points

Basically, Alpha Points are earned at 1 to 4 points per day based on the assets you hold on the Binance exchange itself.

However, there's a cap on this, so to qualify for airdrops later, you need to trade coins in the Alpha section every day.

Buying coins in the 'Market' > 'Alpha' section earns you points. The important thing here is that only your buy volume counts toward the point calculation.

How Do You Earn Alpha Points?

1. Hold Assets on Binance

As mentioned earlier, you earn Alpha Points every day depending on how much in assets you hold on the Binance exchange or wallet. The thresholds are calculated in US dollars. The exact details are as follows.

$100 or more ~ less than $1,000 1 point
$1,000 or more ~ less than $10,000 2 points
$10,000 or more ~ less than $100,000 3 points
$100,000 or more 4 points

For example, if you hold coins worth about KRW 1.5 million ($1,000) in your Binance exchange wallet, you can receive 2 Alpha Points every day.

2. Trade Alpha Coins

When you trade tokens listed in the Alpha section of the Binance market, you can earn points based on your trading amount. The more you trade, the more points you get.

$2 1 point
$4 2 points
$8 3 points
$16 4 points
$32 5 points
$64 6 points
$128 7 points
$256 8 points
$512 9 points
$1024 10 points
$2048 11 points
$4096 12 points

In other words, if you buy about $1024 worth of Alpha tokens a day, you get 10 points. Of course, the more you trade, the more points you can earn.

However, Alpha tokens have low liquidity and tend to have fairly high volatility and slippage, so you need to be careful.

What's the Best Strategy for Earning Alpha Points?

So you're probably wondering, "How much do I actually need to hold and trade on Binance to clear the airdrop requirements efficiently?" That's why I've summarized a simple strategy for each scenario in a table.

Strategy Assets held Daily trading amount Daily points earned 15-day cumulative points
Basic participation (195-point cutoff) $10,000 $1,024 3 + 10 = 13 points 195 points
Safe participation (210+ points) $10,000 $4,096 3 + 11 = 14 points 210 points

Based on the thresholds we've seen so far, it looks like you need at least 190 to 195 points or more to have a good chance of joining a token sale.

Previously, if you were simply aiming for a TGE, it was enough to hold about $1,000 in assets and buy and sell $16 worth of Alpha coins every day.

However, as competition has heated up, the cutoff has risen sharply recently. In conclusion, going forward it looks like you'll need to hold about $10,000 in assets on Binance while buying and selling at least $1024 to $4096 worth of Alpha coins every day.

Doing this earns you 13 to 14 Alpha Points per day, allowing you to reach 195 to 210 points over 15 days.

Each time you join an Alpha Points sale, 15 points are deducted. So with 210 points, 15 points are deducted and you're left with 195. Since the cutoff is usually 190 points, building up more points in advance lets you jump straight into the following token sales and airdrops. So if you can afford it, increasing your trading volume to secure as many points as possible is another option.

Things You Must Know Before Participating

There are a few precautions you should know when earning Alpha Points. First, points reset every day at 00:00 UTC. That's 9 a.m. Korean time.

However, the time when points are actually updated and displayed is 3 to 5 p.m. Korean time. In other words, you can expect activity up to the previous day to be reflected around this time the next day.

Also, cumulative points don't pile up indefinitely; only activity from the last 15 days is counted. Taking a day or two off isn't a big deal, but if you keep skipping days, there's a limit to how many points you can build up, so be careful.

Finally, only purchase records of Alpha tokens count toward points. That means even if you buy and immediately sell, you still earn points for the amount you bought. The reason to sell right away is simply the worry that the price will drop.

Binance can change these Alpha Points criteria or conditions at any time, so it's a good idea to check the official website or announcements often.

Wrapping Up

Binance Alpha Points is an event that lets you join token sales and airdrops without spending a lot of money, simply by maintaining a certain amount of assets, trading, and building up points.

If you participate using the strategy described above, you should be able to qualify for every event and steadily receive airdrops worth at least $70 to $100 each time.

Recently, as word of this goldmine has spread widely, volume farming is costing $1 to $3 or more per day in fees. However, based on what we've seen so far, a single airdrop is enough to break even, so even if it's a bit of a hassle, it seems worth keeping at it consistently.
